Day Five - Carpet is in!

The houndstooth carpet is installed in the Balmoral room!

Fritz completes the last sections of carpet in the service hallway connecting the ballroom hallway to Chester's.

The folding doors are taken off the wall separating the Ballroom from the veranda in order to install the last section of the Ballroom carpet.

The service hallway is done. Now we wait for it to completely dry.

It's the end of Day Five and the ballroom carpeting is complete! We now let the carpet adhesive dry before Monday when the wallpaper installation begins!

Day Four

Carpet is laid down in the service hallway in preparation for installation on Friday.

Two members of the carpet installation team are applying adhesive to the Balmoral room for the foam padding.

Wow! The carpet is down in the ballroom hallway!

The fifth row of carpet being laid down on top of the adhesive after Fritz has applied the edging adhesive.

The ballroom carpet is detail installed around the service doors leading into the ballroom.

Day four is complete. One last row of carpet to install in the ballroom. We're getting close to wrapping up the carpet portion of the renovation. 

Day Three

We are finally in the ballroom hallway by late Wednesday morning scraping and cutting away the carpet.

Padding is laid in the ballroom hallway awaiting adhesive on Thursday.

The Balmoral room is being used for storage. Notice the new wood threshold! Thresholds are being installed at the entrance to the Balmoral room and both entrances to the ballroom.

The final padding is now glued down in the ballroom!

Great care is being taken to ensure the carpet is straight.

Three rows of carpet are now stretched and glued in place with the fourth row now laid. Day Three is complete!

Day Two

The first row of carpet is laid out on the north side of the ballroom in preparation for installation.

Carpet Foreman "Fritz" is meticulously cutting the edge of the carpet, preparing it for installation adjacent to the first row of carpet.

Three members of the carpet installation team are on their hands and knees detailing the floor to insure all remnants of the previous pad are scraped clean from the concrete floor.

Two carpet installers are applying adhesive for the foam padding, working from center back to the outer walls.

Carpet rolls await their time to be rolled out!

One row of carpet is laid and glued with three additional rows temporarily rolled out in preparation for installation on Wednesday. 

Day two is complete and in the books!

Day One

Day one of our ballroom renovation began as early as 7:00am with the carpet and padding being scraped off the ballroom concrete base. It’s fun to watch the National 6280 Industrial Panther Self-Propelled Floor Stripper in action!

This is a double-stick application beginning with the rubber cushion being glued to the flooring prior to the carpet being glued on top of the cushion.

Day one is complete and over 50% of the ballroom carpet and padding is stripped with padding already adheared to the sub-surface. Watch for updates on Day Two as ballroom work continues!

After 20 years of weddings, meetings and parties, the ballroom and ballroom hallway are getting a facelift!

The service hallway and the Balmoral Room will also be getting new carpet.
